The interior design and fitout team at Interite enjoyed working with headspace Cannington to design a vibrant, up lifting and welcoming space to meet the needs of the culturally and linguistically diverse local community, from the exterior signage in.
A combination of neutral and popping colours throughout waiting and clinical areas created a space that is both welcoming and enlightening without being overwhelming. The importance of balance cannot be understated.
Appealing to a diverse range of cultures has been represented in the waiting area, with the greeting ‘hello’, on a wall mural in differing languages. A small gesture designed to make people feel comfortable when they are at their most vulnerable.
Integral in the design consideration was reception and facilities to provide inclusion of employment and consultation to people with all abilities. Wheelchair accessible reception areas and height of benches were factored into the design.
Workstations with privacy partitions, counselling and GP rooms, staff meeting, and amenities provide flexibility of use and ample opportunities for productivity and collaboration between colleagues.
Within the new 850m2 space, the headspace team is now able to service their local community, the Interite team are proud to have the opportunity to contribute.
