Mount Barker Medical Clinic presented Interite Healthcare Interiors with the brief of creating an environment that influences workflow and functionality to the staff, however, also influences a sense of tranquillity and comfort.
The team at Interite Healthcare Interiors developed a concept in which exceeded the client’s needs and facilitated a creative balance between the space’s purpose and atmosphere.
The design team drew inspiration from the local surrounds of the South Australian environment and incorporated this throughout the space’s textures and colour palette, instilling a sense of familiarity, locality and comfort to all who enter the space.
The practice now provides a total of eight spacious general practitioner rooms and a fully equipped treatment suite, supplied with its own nurse station and sterilisation room. The practice also hosts four Allied Health rooms in the new design, furthering convenience, efficiency, workflow and overall patient support.
The concierge design, interior fitout and arrangement are designed beyond all client expectations and clinic design standards, providing functionality to nearby waiting areas. The concierge is designed to be to statement piece, influencing the first impression upon entry into the space; this is achieved with its unusual design of ceramic tiles, juxtaposed with darker elements.
Following this, the waiting areas are arranged to eliminate the traditional face-to-face rows of chairs, allowing patient comfort and privacy. With it’s high-quality furnishings, all materials not only are made to last, they also reflect the local surrounds of nature consistently throughout the space for further familiarity.
